Record Store Day 2011!

The fourth annual Record Store Day is set to take place on Saturday 16th April.

To celebrate this awesome event there will be loads, hundreds in fact, of exclusive and ridiculously limited releases from loads of different bands/artists etc - spanning genres and eras. David's Music will be opening at the earlier time of 8am - I am reminded of some kind of analogy featuring birds and worms... include as appropriate.

Kicking off around midday, we're hosting an afternoon of live music right here in the shop. First up is DJ Malc with an hour of funky soul and hot disco. Next up are The Scratch (St Albans based powerpunk/pop - excellent live band) who are also releasing a limited 7" on Record Store Day. Then comes our old friends, and local heroes, The October Game - definitely one NOT to miss. Richy Pitch is up next, with a unique blend of African Beats and Hip-Hop influences, CD out now, a definite shop fave. Last but not least, we're very excited to have SEAN O'HAGAN of High Llamas fame, with a live solo set to promote new album 'Talahomi Way' released 4th April on CD & LP.
